Canon themselves does not support the scanner in Linux however third party drivers are sometimes available. The SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) driver library for Canon may possibly work. Officialy only the Lide 35 is supported: SANE Canon Driver Library. This driver library should be tried.

The Canon CanoScan LiDE 35 provides more than you might expect given the cost of just $80 (direct).
